Happy Birthday, Harry!

Do you know what yesterday was? It's my sister Jeannine's birthday. And my grandparents' anniversary. So that's really cool.

Not to downplay those two momentous occasions, because I love my sister and my grandparents very much, but it was also Harry Potter's birthday.

And I felt like there weren't enough posts on my blog devoted to him or his journies (or Ron and Neville. You know I'm goin' be puttin' those two visions in here). SO! Here we go.

Tears. Every time.

You know what? I don't even care that I just stuck about 7 hours worth of HP stuff up here. It's obviously needed. The world doesn't have enough Harry Potter. Ever. We ALWAYS need more. 

Let's take a minute to talk about Neville Longbottom

In my last post, I said that Neville was the most underrated character, and I was dead serious.

Why? Because the whole book series would have gone up in smoke if it weren't for Neville.

1. If it weren't for Neville's remembrall, McGonagall would not have chosen Harry to be seeker for the Gryffindor team. Harry would not be trained so well on a broom, and he wouldn't have beat that dragon in the triwizard cup.
2. If it weren't for Neville standing up to Harry, Ron, and Hermione the night they caught Quirrell, Gryffindor wouldn't have won the house cup, and Draco's head would have been 10 times bigger.
3. If it weren't for Neville, Dobby wouldn't have been able to get the gillyweed to Harry, so he would have drowned in the Lake.
4. If it weren't for Neville, nobody in the 4th year Defence Against the Dark Arts class would know what the Cruciatus curse was.
5. Neville could have easily had Harry's life. If Snape had been in love with Neville's mom, these books would have been centered around Neville.
6. Neville's life was just as hard as Harry's. His parents were tortured into insanity, he had to go live with his slightly scary grandmother, where everyone thought he was a squib, and his uncle kept trying to kill him so that his magic will show up. When it did finally show up, he was given a frog, which had a habit of escaping.
7. If it weren't for Neville (and Trevor, the toad, of course), Harry, Ron, and Hermione wouldn't have had their adorable first meeting. And, Ron might still have dirt on his nose.
8. If it weren't for Neville, all of the students that were in Hogwarts while Harry, Ron, and Hermione were traipsing around the country would have been chewed up and spit out by the Carrows.
9. If it weren't for Neville, those same kids would have had nowhere to go when they were on the run from Snape and the Carrows, but they did have somewhere to go. Because Neville figured everything out about the room of requirement. Because he is a flipping genius.
10. If it weren't for Neville, Harry would not have been able to kill Voldemort. Neither Harry, Ron, nor Hermione were able to kill Nagini. Neville stepped in. He slashed that snake like a boss, and the last Horcrux was gone, leaving the noseless wonder open and vulnerable for Harry to Avada Kedavra him.

So, obviously, we have not given Neville nearly enough credit for all of his bravery and endeavors. He's pretty much the backbone of these books. Nothing happens without Neville.

Not to mention the fact that the man is a stone cold fox.

Can we just talk about how excited I am?

I know that you're probably getting this from all angles today, it does happen tonight, but I feel that I need to put in my two cents in (although, with how exciting I am, it's probably about 3 bazillion cents).

Tonight is Harry Potter 7.

I'm sorry, that wasn't excited enough, was it?

TONIGHT IS HARRY POTTER 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know there are people out there who don't understand/care/love/cry when they think about HP, but I am not one of them, and frankly, I just don't understand them.

Seriously. Harry Potter has been such a big part of my life. Seriously. Ask me anything about it, I could probably answer correctly. I'm wearing my HP7 shirt right now.

I feel like Harry and I are super tight. But, Ron and I are tighter.

I will be crying when Neville comes to the screen, I feel like he's the most underrated character. I know everybody loves him, and talks about him, but they talk about Ron and Hermione and freaking Draco way more. As much as I love them (and I really really do), Neville just holds this place in my heart. I love him so much.

I will cry when the screen says "19 years later."

I will cry when Percy comes back, and when Fred leaves.

I will probably jump out of my skin when Mrs. Weasly offs Bellatrix.

I will cry when Snape's story gets told.

I will FREAK OUT when Ron and Hermione kiss.

Ok, guys, I could keep going, but I'm not going to. But, I will leave you with these posters (that I stole from my sister's blog).

Neville's experiences in the first few books hurts my heart.

When he's describing his experience finding out he wasn't a squib.

When he keeps forgetting things.

When he breaks his wrist.

When he describes his fear of Snape.

When you think about the fact that his name is Neville LONGBOTTOM.

When you find out about his parents.

Of course, Neville becomes one of the most amazing characters in the end. He's so awesome.

I just feel so bad for baby Neville.
