I LOVE IT!

animal lover

I'm not a huge fan of animals.
I think they're cute when I'm looking at them, and I love holding them, but once they come home with me, and they grow to adult animals, we stop being friends.
I don't like the smell of animals, I don't love animal hair, and I just don't feel the need to own them.
Them=common everyday domestic animals.

Then, I see animals that very few people own, and I become obsessed.
Take, for instance, the teacup pig

Look at its sweet little self. I love it so much.

Another example, the baby pygmy hippo. It is probably the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

Look at it take a bath! And eat lettuce! And sit there looking all cute!

Lastly, the slow loris is my new obsession. I want one really, really bad. Just keep watching until it makes its incredibly pathetic face. It is going to make you laugh and cry at the same time.

i'm obsessed

wow.
this site has the cutest clothes i've ever not been able to afford.
i want everything.
the dresses.
the jeans.
the stripey shirts.
the BIG flowers.
the shoes.
the purses.
i want to look like the girl.

i want someone to take pictures of me in new york (?) looking extremely cute.
i want to own baby ducks.
i want to sell clothes.
seriously. can you imagine how cute i would be if i had this outfit?:

i tried making this post yellow, but it was illegible.

alright, i don't know where this obsession came from. it just kind of sprang on me.
but lately, i've been a little obsessed with yellow.
today, i bought yellow shoes and a yellow umbrella.
then i looked through the pottery barn catalog.
every time something yellow popped up in the my vision, my "i want that" radar went zing!
i want to live in a yellow house (which i did grow up in) with yellow walls, and yellow furniture, and yellow accessories.
i'm not sure how this is going work with my plan of living in the blue and orange house.
maybe the yellow one will be my summer home
(because we all know that if i can have a pottery barn house, then i can obviously have a summer home.)

oh no...

i have a huge issue.
i think it's worse than people realize.
maybe i need to be committed. do they have rehab for clock addicts?
because what happens when i see this is no good.
i literally said "oh no" out loud.
problems.

but, isn't it pretty?

fun fact number 15

your mama don't dance
and your daddy don't rock and roll

well, mine do.

(obviously)
this is great for me.

it means i have pretty decent music taste.
however, that came with some issues.
we listened to music a lot growing up.
but, it wasn't the music that you guys probably all listened to.
until i was about 11 years old, i didn't know that "new" music was being made.
no idea whatsoever.
i grew up on oldies.
the beatles,
elvis,

buddy holly,
the monkees,
the hollies,
i thought that 90s music was "skating party music" that's what i called it.
so, yes, i'd heard tlc and the spice girls.
but i didn't know you could listen to them outside of the skating rink.
now, this is great for me.
i have a broad range of music that i like.
but,
in 4th grade?
the kid who's favorite band is the beatles?
and has never heard of 98 degrees?

she's weird.

if you listen closely, you can hear cassy and i singing "love potion number niyiyine"
do you hear it?

(this post was inspired by my current obsession with my oldies playlist on grooveshark. it consists of beauties such as
peggy sue
do wah diddy
carrie anne
the rain, the park, and other things
last train to clarksville
take good care of my baby

bus stop
love potion number 9
and wipeout.
much of this music would be dubbed by my father as "teeny bopper" music, and he would be extremely distressed that i would choose to willingly listen to it
)

obsession #4

remember my clock obsession?
or the
tree one?
or the
typewriter?
i have another one. this one's pretty recent.
it's just come up.
i like do it yourself things.
if i see something awesome, i want it,
however,
i'm poor.
so i need to do it my self.
this little site is feeding my obsession like crazy.
it's amazing.
and this one? this one will come in handy if i ever decide to tie a not.
i made a clock.
well, i haven't finished it yet, but it will look like this one
only, it won't cukoo.
it's gonna be sweet though.

things i love #3

don't get me wrong, i like technology.

(yes, i love technology.
but not as much as you you see.
always and forever
)

i have a compy.
i have an ipod.
i have a cell phone.
i have a digital camara

i am very grateful for those things. they make my life easier. however, i really really like typewriters.
they just seem whimsical and romantic to me. i can't describe it.

but i'd really like to own one of these:
they're really pretty. plus i would feel like Cary Grant's co star in His Girl Friday.
maybe there is a part of me that would still like to be a journalist. but the old timey kind. the kind that wrote on typewriters.

i've seen really cool things done with typewriters.
like this:
well, this doesn't actually show what it is. this is from a wedding. instead of having a guest book, they had a typewriter. i'm a fan.

however, since i'm poor, and antique typewriters run between $75-$300. i will settle with these:

they are hairpins made out of antique typewriter keys. the asterisk (*). and they're substantially cheaper than the whole typewriter.

go for it, jack!

i love trees. i'm a little obsessed actually. but there is one tree that i wish had never left korea and come to america.

the bradford pear.

it's pretty, yes. it has pretty flowers and pretty shape, and from far away, it is the epitome of spring time prettiness.

but then you get close to it, and you wish you could cut every single flower into tiny little pieces while wearing a gas mask. why? because this tree stinks.

it smells like yeast and vomit and everything you hate in life all rolled into one, blowing in the breeze. looking at it, you'd think it had the hint of vanilla. or something pretty like that. but it doesn't. not by a long shot.

not to mention the fact that these are the pansiest trees in existence. any light zephyr and they break in half and just lie there like somebody committed a horrible tree homicide. it looks like jack the ripper went on a tree rampage. and you know what? i wouldn't blame him if he did. those trees deserve it.

isn't it about time?

for an obsession post?

(i feel like there will be many in the future, but this will be the first)

clocks.

don't ask me why. i cannot explain to you my recent and resounding obsession with clocks, but it is there, and it is going strong.

for example, this clock is dubbed as "a clock that hates numbers"

this clock makes me hate numbers. in the best possible way. i want to hold this clock instead of a bouquet when married, in fact, i'll just marry this clock. (too bad it's a whopping $1600. memo to my millionaire friends, this would be a wonderful birthday present)

i'm pretty sure this next clock could replace my television.

i would just sit there and watch the ball go around and around. because it's mesmerizing. and hypnotizing.

i don't think there are words to describe how awesome this timepiece is to me. i will admit it took me at least 10 minutes to figure out how it worked, but once i did, i broke down and cried (figuratively) and lamented the fact that it's not hanging on my wall (literally).

i would put this clock in my kitchen. or in a breakfast nook (if i ever have one of those). it makes me want to drink orange juice. and eat oranges. and bask in the sunlight of a midsummer's day reading Shakespeare (yes, Shakespeare).

maybe this clock just feeds into my morbid side, but i love it. let me explain to you how it works. the left little eye is the hour, while the right is the minute, so these little peepers are currently showing you the time of 03:50

wow. this is a lot of clocks. i understand if you need to take a brief intermission, i won't be offended. but these last 2 are my favorites.

this is a 24 hour clock. i don't know for sure, because it's not big for me either, but i think that those little swirls are the hours of the day. i also think that this clock is not an English one. totally doesn't matter.

and my final and favorite clock of all time (tiny drum-role):

i would give up my big toe, my kneecaps, or my belly button to own this clock. usually i am not a fan of the cuckoo clock, but somehow this little beauty stole my heart and left it broken with it's $360 price tag.
