Sweet Valley

Do you remember those books?
You don't?!
Where have you been living? Under a stupid rock?
Well, if you do remember them, then it's good we're friends.
Even if you didn't read them as avidly as I did.
Even if you didn't read this one 300 times a week.
Even if you didn't play this game every single day of your entire life until you were 12.
Well, I did all those things. I loved those books. And that game.
Today, I learned something very exciting.
They are also setting it in the 80s. Let the nostalgia begin, guys.
This movie is going to be a huge shout out to my childhood.
It's time to hang out with Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield. It's gonna be amazing.

History.

Truman Capote

That is not the real Ben Franklin. I am 99% sure.

My family reunion is in about a week and a half.

I know that I shouldn't complain. I am in New York, and I am loving it, but I am very jealous of how my whole family gets to get together and see each other.
I do wish I could go. I miss my family immensely, and I didn't get to go last year either, so I wish I could see my cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents (and my sisters and parents for that matter).

So, I've been a little sad-ish lately. And because of this, there are some things that I should stop doing.

I should stop watching Dawson's Creek. Something about watching eloquent teenagers whine about how bad their lives are inspires a pity party inside of me that makes me want to cry about everything "wrong" in my life. (wrong is in quotation marks because there's really nothing wrong in my life)
I should not watch the "Michael is Leaving" episodes of the Office. It's like losing your best friend.
I should also probably stop whining about what makes me sad. Then I won't be feeling sad.
Also, I should listen to this song more often.
And this one.
And this one.
And especially this one.

i did this today.

With less anger, though. It was accidental. I was running up the stairs and accidentally punched the wall. It hurt really bad, and my hand is a little swollen and bruised. Ouch.
(I made the same noise as Andy. It hurt really bad)
But, sadly, my hand didn't go through the wall.

A lifetime love affair

When I told my dad that I wanted to get a cat, he made fun of me. And told me that I didn't need to get one, because I already have one.

And I was like "Whatchu talkin' bout, Wallace?"

Then I realized what he was "talkin' bout."

My kitty surprise.

When I was about 3 or 4, all I wanted for my birthday was a pink kitty surprise. Maybe you don't remember this toy. It doesn't involve batteries, it doesn't meow or act like a real cat. It doesn't come with its own cat car and cat mall.

It is a pink stuffed mama cat with a Velcro stomach. When you open that stomach, there are kittens inside. How many kittens is the surprise. I realize that to some of you this may sound like the creepiest thing in the world. I, however, think it's awesome. And at the time, this was the only think I wanted in my entire life. ALL I WANTED IN MY LIFE. My mom understood that I wanted it, but I do remember her trying to tell me that in a year or two I wouldn't want my kitty surprise to be hot pink. I assured her I did, and I would.

On my birthday, quivering in anticipation, I opened up my presents, and lo and behold there it was. The most beautiful stuffed animal I had ever seen. She was hot pink. She had three babies. We named the babies. I don't remember their names. I may have even named the kitty surprise. I don't remember her name either. All I know is that of all of the stuffed animals accumulated over the years, this kitty surprise is the only one I have with me at college.

I guess my desire for a cat is really more than just a 2 day impulse, but a 19 year longing.

This is my kitty surprise, by the way. It's ok if you think she's scary. I know that a lot of people do. I, however, think she's glorious.

Today I saw twins dressed the same on campus.
I thought of Dwight when I saw them.
I, too, love a good set of twins.
