Alright, stop.

Collaborate and listen.

Yes, I did have to start this post that way. Why?
Because this post is about the hard hitting lyrics of Vanilla Ice.
But, more about my brain, and how it doesn't forget things.

In order to tell this story, though, let me go back approximately 8 years and 11 months.
Because that's when I turned 14 and started going to stake dances.
Maybe other LDS kids growing up didn't think that those were very fun, but believe me, when I got to that golden age and got to start going to a dance once a month, It made my teenage heart beat faster at the sound of certain songs.

A*Teens' Bouncing off the Ceiling
Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On
Kelly Clarkson's Since You Been Gone
But, most of all, Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby

I wanted to be really cool when I was 14, so I got it into my head that I should learn the lyrics to Vanilla Ice, because then all of my friends would know I was cool. So I did. And believe me, they did.
(You should know that I had a really bad hair cut and needed something to make people see past that)

Over the past month, I've spent a lot of time driving by myself in my car. In order for me to do this, I usually need to sing. Just so I don't get bored. I learned over these past few weeks that I've still got it. I can still sing along with Vanilla. I'm not as good as I was when I was 14, sometimes I mumble.

But, if you guys would like to, we could have a sing along party with me and Ice, just remember that anything less than your best is a felony.

Yo, man. Let's get out of here.
Word to your mother.

Alison.

Tomorrow,

Thursday, April 28, 2011

This is a VERY big week!

This week very big things happened/are happening to three of my very best friends. This is Alisoooooooooooooooooooon (yes, she may be French). She is departing to Mexico tomorrow. Because she is really really cool. And she speaks Spanish. Fluently. She's amazing. And we've been friends since we were 12, so I'm going to miss her. SO MUCH! I'm proud of you, Alison. You are awesome.

This is Dana (and Jameson. He deserves to be in this post). She got married last Saturday. To Jameson. Aren't they cute? I love them both. And their wedding was lovely. And they looked beautiful. So pretty. I'm very happy for them and their Holy Union (yes, I said it, Dana). Now they're on a cruise, and she gets to swim with a seal. Jealousy.

This is Bianca (and Greg). She is getting married TOMORROW!!!!!! YAY, BIANCA! She and Greg are beautiful and I know that they will be incredibly happy and their life will be wonderful! Can't you just see how pretty she'll be on her wedding day? I mean, she's already so beautiful. That white dress will look absolutely stunning on her. And Greg will probably look pretty good too. So, congratulations my lovelies. I'm very excited for you.

Oh, and I graduated last Friday.

hooray for me

motherly instincts

I believe that I've mentioned one of my plants before.
I've mentioned my bamboo. My wonderful bamboo that has gone through more college with me than anything or anyone else.
But, I have other plants. I was talking to my mom about my plants and what will happen to them when I leave BYU. There are just so many, I can't take them on a plane. I also can't ship them. I could leave them with someone staying in Provo, like Alison, Dana, Bianca or Katie. But I told my mom that I wasn't sure that I would be able to do that. It would be like giving up a child, and while I know that my friends would take good care of them, I love my plants.
My mom said that this is a result of my motherly instincts kicking in. I can't have a baby right now, and I can't have pets (my apartment won't allow it) so I'm attaching myself to these plants.
But of course I'm attached. I have nurtured these plants. I have raised some of them from seedlings. The others I have raised from almost dying. Plus, they're just so cute.

Basil
Rosemary
Cilantro
Morning Glory
Lavender. This one is exciting. This little guy just sprouted in the last couple of days. I've been waiting for him for about a month. Isn't he sweet?
Bamboo
Aloe Vera (and my clocky).
Money Tree.

Thrilled

Remember my love of this man?
Well, yesterday, I got a thrill in my life. In the form of a youtube video emailed to me by Alison.
It very well may be the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
Imagine in your mind a marriage of Bollywood and Thriller .
Because that's exactly what this is.

fun fact number 18

I don't like elevators. They serve a wonderful purpose, that I'll admit.
I just don't like the jolt when they start and stop. It makes me feel like I'm going to get stuck in them.

I also don't like stairs. They're just harder hills.

My preferred mode of traveling between stories is escalators. You can walk up them if you'd like to, but you can also stand. They give you
options. Also, one time I recreated the Elf escalator scene and when Alison turned around to watch me, she hit her head on the wall. She was fine, but it was really funny.

If I was here by myself I'd just lie here all day and eat bacon.

I. Love. Bacon.
All kinds of bacon.
I even know how to say "I love bacon" in sign language (thank you Alison and Jamisa).
I whole heartedly agree with everything good 'ol Jimmy says in this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaK9bjLy3v4

However, there is one thing about bacon that is, well, less desirable.
The smell. Before eating the bacon, the smell is fantastic. It is just enticing you, tickling your nose and getting you even more excited (if possible) for the delicious strip of happiness that you're about to eat.
But after the bacon has been consumed? That's when the problem sets in. It lingers. But the bacon is gone then. It's just a memory of joy. A Tim Burton type morbidity that is beautiful but less cheerful than it was earlier.
The smell, however, does not take from my love. It just makes me wish I had more.
Oh, bacon.

connect Kevin Bacon to Zac Efron (fun fact number 16)

ok, so i really like the web site imdb.
i don't know why, but i do.
i am convinced that this is the reason i'm good at the game "6 levels of Kevin Bacon"
or, if you're playing with alison, "a bunch of levels of Zac Efron"
seriously.
give me a combination of zac efron plus an actor or kevin bacon and an actor, i will connect them.
i'm awesome.

*fun fact? i play 6 levels of Kevin Bacon in my head when i'm bored.

HAPPY 21 BIRTHDAY!!!
i love you,
you're my best friend and i'm so excited that it's your birthday,
or was yesterday.

pictures i found

sometimes i take pictures with my phone.
i looked at these today, and well, i thought i'd share.

also, i wanted to delete them off my phone, but i needed to immortalize them,
and since this bloggity blog blog is obviously lasting forever,
this is probably a good place to put them.
remember the ducks that i loved? these are them. beautiful.
this snail was in my path. i thought i'd show it for daisy. these types of slugs used to climb into her house. freaky.
this one's for kathleen and alison. you guys have mud on your shoulders.
don't doubt that i will eventually call for one of these.
this one confuses me. i don't know what it means. i don't know why it's there, but i've seen several of them. (i blurred out the name because i don't know the police captain or why he's supposedly a liar, so i don't want to ruin his street cred, i just wanted to share the weirdness) here's my thing. if you want to make a statement, let's not make flyers that look like your five year old brother could make them. weird.
this was my score for beatles rock band. yeah, kind of a big deal.
this chair was sitting in front of the book store. it was all alone. by itself. the sign says it's reserved. what?

oh Harry, how i love you.
i've read your life story so many times,
but never have i experienced it the way i will this summer.
alison and i have made a plan
(it's awesome)
we will both read the books at the same time
after we finish each book,
we will watch the movie.
while we watch the movies,
we will eat what they ate in the book
(butter beer
cochroach clusters
pumpkin juice
cauldron cakes
i refuse to eat kidney pudding, though.
no.
)
i anticipate this process taking between 7 and 10 weeks.
we do have work
and classes
and sleep.
but it's going to be awesome.
oh, and best part? it'll end with the opening of movie number 7 part 1 in november
(
which just happens to be my birthmonth)
fate? i think yes.
