For your viewing pleasure (but mostly for Bianca's)

Today it rained.
Pretty hard.
I put my ipod on my "rain" playlist.
It's basically just a playlist with any songs I have that mention or allude to rain.
Don't Rain On My Parade
Fire and Rain
Kiss the Rain
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
Who'll Stop The Rain
But the one that's most exciting is No Rain. By Blind Melon.
You may not understand this.
But I know Bianca will.
It was the most exciting, because when this song came on, coupled with the warm rain (almost like California!) I felt like Seth and Ryan in this clip (youtube hates letting me embed this).
It was great.

This is a VERY big week!

This week very big things happened/are happening to three of my very best friends. This is Alisoooooooooooooooooooon (yes, she may be French). She is departing to Mexico tomorrow. Because she is really really cool. And she speaks Spanish. Fluently. She's amazing. And we've been friends since we were 12, so I'm going to miss her. SO MUCH! I'm proud of you, Alison. You are awesome.

This is Dana (and Jameson. He deserves to be in this post). She got married last Saturday. To Jameson. Aren't they cute? I love them both. And their wedding was lovely. And they looked beautiful. So pretty. I'm very happy for them and their Holy Union (yes, I said it, Dana). Now they're on a cruise, and she gets to swim with a seal. Jealousy.

This is Bianca (and Greg). She is getting married TOMORROW!!!!!! YAY, BIANCA! She and Greg are beautiful and I know that they will be incredibly happy and their life will be wonderful! Can't you just see how pretty she'll be on her wedding day? I mean, she's already so beautiful. That white dress will look absolutely stunning on her. And Greg will probably look pretty good too. So, congratulations my lovelies. I'm very excited for you.

Oh, and I graduated last Friday.

hooray for me

motherly instincts

I believe that I've mentioned one of my plants before.
I've mentioned my bamboo. My wonderful bamboo that has gone through more college with me than anything or anyone else.
But, I have other plants. I was talking to my mom about my plants and what will happen to them when I leave BYU. There are just so many, I can't take them on a plane. I also can't ship them. I could leave them with someone staying in Provo, like Alison, Dana, Bianca or Katie. But I told my mom that I wasn't sure that I would be able to do that. It would be like giving up a child, and while I know that my friends would take good care of them, I love my plants.
My mom said that this is a result of my motherly instincts kicking in. I can't have a baby right now, and I can't have pets (my apartment won't allow it) so I'm attaching myself to these plants.
But of course I'm attached. I have nurtured these plants. I have raised some of them from seedlings. The others I have raised from almost dying. Plus, they're just so cute.

Basil
Rosemary
Cilantro
Morning Glory
Lavender. This one is exciting. This little guy just sprouted in the last couple of days. I've been waiting for him for about a month. Isn't he sweet?
Bamboo
Aloe Vera (and my clocky).
Money Tree.

I'm gettin' old

When I was a freshmen, I could stay out late. I could hang out with Katie, Dana, and Bianca until 4 in the morning and get up at 8 to go to class, then do it again the next day.

Now, however, I can't do that. I never stay up past 12:20 without passing out. I need a nap the next day. The days when it is absolutely necessary for me to stay up late, I'm a zombie the next day.

I can't decide if I'm getting old or if its 4 years of sleep deprivation catching up to me. Maybe after I graduate I'll just sleep for a year.

Houston, we have a problem

Yesterday at work, I was talking to a supervisor about how to make my calls better. The topic was brought up that it is evident when I become uncomfortable in a call.

While trying to find how to mask that discomfort, she asked me, "Are you a people pleaser?" The automatic answer was a resounding YES.

We then went on to talk about how she is, too and about how we both have issues with confrontation (that's for real) and neither one of us wants to ever hurt anybody's feelings or make anybody upset. That is my life. I have no ability to confront people with my feelings. Ever. Ask Dana and Bianca. It's just not possible.

Today I realized just how far this little quirk had gone with the following anecdote.
While studying today, I was listening to my She & Him station on Pandora. So far, this station was fantastic. Every song that came on was wonderful. Then one song came on that was less good. I just didn't like it, so I clicked the thumbs down, you know, so that Pandora could better improve my listening experience. A note popped up from Pandora saying that they were sorry, would take my opinion into account, and would never play that song on that station again. Great!

Here's the problem:

For a split second, I was actually afraid I had offended Pandora. The website. Not a real person, not an animal, not even a life like robot. A. Web. Site. I was actually apologizing to Pandora in my mind and considering un-clicking the thumbs down before I realized that I was worried about disrespecting an online location.

Then I just felt silly.

I got a rock.

I think I've probably mentioned before that I love fall. It's pretty.
It looks like this:photo courtesy of
It smells good. There's lots of leaves. And orangey colors.
It also includes several holidays that I love.
Including Halloween.

Halloween is one of the most glorious holidays known to man. Let's be honest. IT IS A WHOLE DAY OF CANDY!

Let's listen to what the great Jerry Seinfeld has to say about the glorious day.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MarBVyZVe9s

I also love Halloween because of the fact that you get to wear amazing costumes. And believe me. I have had some pretty great ones in the past.

1. The disco ball.
(This was actually better in person. There was a ridiculous amount of glitter and sparkle)
2. David Bowie
3. an Elf (and Dana was Minnie Mouse)
(and those are the gold fish we won at the best Halloween party ever)
4. DJ Tanner (with a trucker, Jimmy Neutron, two little kids, and a...fairy?)I really love Halloween.
And the last and most important reason to love Halloween?
It is my pretty sister Daisy's birthday.
She is very shexy in her vampiric Halloween wear. She's lucky, her birthday is celebrated by the whole world, or most of the nation. And "everybody is just givin' out candy."

MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've got bruises (alright).
ALL OVER MY LEGS!
they come from different places.
the three on the left leg, the three that resemble galaxies,
they come from my failed attempt at wake boarding.
(i said failed attempt because i tried several times to get up on the board.
i failed several times to get up on the board)
the other ones have slightly more comical stories.
there are two others.
they came from the same experience.
last night, i went to bianca's house.
we had a dance party, so obviously we had to move the coffee table.
then we decided to go get slurpees. from 7-11. (flashback to freshmen year)
i had to change out of my dance party clothes.
when i came back into the living room, the lights were off.
i forgot about the coffee table.
SMACK!
right into both of my shins.
hilary and bianca fell over laughing.
(i knew the table was there. i moved it there)
and i now have swollen bruises right above the yellower fading bruises beneath.
ouch.

picture picture

ok.
so.
this weekend? = awesome!
here's the skinny.
i have a friend. her name is hilary. she's pretty.
also, she is awesome. and her family is too.
she invited me and bianc and greg and connor to her family fourth of july shindig.
it was filled with boating and mr. rogers and s'mores and bieber and shots (the song, not a small alcoholic beverage) and really awesome testimonies and cabins and twilight scene it and denny's and tubing and fireworks and so much more.
really, it was a magical weekend.
i really wish you all could have been there, but since you weren't,
i have some pictures.
(these pictures were all stolen from bianca's blog, so if you read hers and mine, i'm sorry about the redundancy)

connor, me, bianc, greg, and hilary
tubing (why, yes, i was sore for 3 days)
bianc, me, and hil
denny's. greg broke the pancake record.
don't ask what i'm doing with my hands. i don't know.
this is our ad for hershy's chocolate.
apparently the point of this game is to not laugh. i did not succeed.
hilary and me with our s'mores. delicious.

sisters do as sisters should

remember that post about dana and bianca?
well, upon reading that post, my sister daisy pointed out that i haven't written anything about her and my sister jeannine.
huh, i thought. that's true.
so here it is.
a post about my sisters.
all three of them.
in all of their glory.

i have amazing sisters.
they are beautiful,
they are funny,
they are strong,
they are crazy,
they are cool.
my family's kind of funny.
my parents had two kids 21 months apart.
then they waited 7 years.
and had two kids 18 months apart.
daisy is the oldest
she's a mother of 5,
she's very verbose and has a beautifully prodigious vocabulary.
she's afraid of whales and slugs.
she is a ridiculously fast reader.
she introduced me to the beauty that is empire records (what's with today today?) and 10 things i hate about you. (and i'm back in the game!)
she understands why i hate hiking the Y.
she knows why i love flight of the concords.
she talks to me on the phone for hours.
she has a really big pretty house.
she doesn't hate me because we put dandelions (which she is allergic to) in her pillow when she was a teenager

jeannine comes second.
she's a mother of 4.
she has an infectious laugh.
she's so artistic and talented that it would make you cry.
she's afraid of kites.
she will talk to me for hours about harry potter and twilight and jane austen and charles dickens and shakespeare.
she shares my love for masterpiece classics.
she introduced me to the cranberries and they might be giants.
she shares my love of gilmore girls and psych and the office and chuck.
she doesn't hate me because i locked her in her room many times when we were younger.

third is kathleen
she is my otro half.
she is the mother of 1.
she is afraid of spiders.
she does my hair, and is dang good at it.
she is just as silly as i am.
she too understands why i love fantasia and snow white.
she gets she's the man and why it's so important in my life.
she shares my love of sumthin' serious (you smell nice)
she used to sing my heart will go on with me for hours on end.
she was also obsessed with jonathan taylor thomas and hanson.

so, basicallly, i have the best, most beautiful, and most amazing sisters ever.
i want to be them when i grow up.

awake and not angry.

when i moved to p-town, i was scared.
i was 18.
i was living with 5 girls i'd never met before.
in a building with 59 girls i'd never met before.
and my best friend was
all the way across campus.
(k, now, heritage to helaman is super quick and easy. when you're a freshmen, heritage to the hfac is far. [for those of you who don't go to byu, heritage to helaman is about a 15 minute walk. heritage to the hfac is a 2 minute walk])

then i met bianca.
she was the first person i met at byu. i was walking down the stairs and she was walking up them.
she said "did you just come out of that apartment?"
i said "yes."
she said "i'm your roommate!"
in the next few hours, we found out that not only did we both enjoy zacky zac efron,
but also the same music
(i remember she was listening to grace kelley by mika)
and we both loved victoria's secret lip gloss.
by the end of our freshmen year, we were like this:
bianc and i have a lot of fond memories.
there was the time we each drank about 3 gallons of water while we watched OTH.
there was the time we painted our nells during finals with the door shut, she educated me on a penicillin shot (it hurts like a mother, but heals like a penguin).
there was the time we went to HSM3 at midnight.
there were the times we danced to nights of endless pleasure.
there were the times we wore our leggings.
there was the time i went into her work and cried with her for about an hour.
there were the times she threw up while i was in the shower.
there was the time we took stats together.
there was the time we went ice blocking.
there was the time jumped in the pool fully clothed.
there was the time i won at the bubble blowing contest.
there was the time we went to eclipse and waited in line for like 5 hours. (that was two days ago)

5 fun facts about bianca:
she loves painting her nells (that's idaho for nails)
she can quote the hot chick in her sleep
she used to live in hawaii
she's really good at bowling and raquetball
she has really awesome hot pink kicks.

a little while after i met bianca, i started to venture outside of my own apartment to make friends, and into the one next door.
this is where i met dana.
let me tell you about my friendship with dana.
the first contact i had with dana was when she added me on facebook because she could see my itunes library and she enjoyed it.
dana and i met formally at a hall movie night where we watched a cinderella story.
we then decided to watch the lizzie mcguire movie together.
after that, our weekends were filled with guarana (delicious brazilian soda), chocolate oranges, and movie nights.
we watched
zoolander, muppet treasure island, zoolander, empire records, zoolander, anchorman, zoolander
(side note: dana has the clean flix version of zoolander. it's only an hour long, so we watched it a
lot.)
we also had a zac efron marathon,
this consisted of:
hairspray, the derby stallion, HSM, HSM2.
(at the time, those were the only ones he was in)
since then, we have grown crazy close,
we took bowling,
she introduced me to fun.,
we took raquetball,
i introduced her to flight of the concords,
(it's business time, and bret? you've got it going on)
we found
the latke who couldn't stop screaming.
i went to my first concert with her.
we went camping in goblin valley with brissa.
i wrote her eulogy.
i miss her a lot.
(come back dana!)

5 fun facts about dana:
her true goal in life is to hold a sloth.
she likes to save slugs and snails when it rains.
her dog, toby, is one of her favorite beings on the earth.
she was on the dance team in high school, so she can do the pony.
her favorite makeup item is blush.

last year, bianca and dana formed a band. it's name is the title of this post.

in two months, i will again live with both of them. i'm so excited that i can't even stand it. it's going to be amazing. i can't wait.

this is them on halloween in their glow in the dark onesies doing pro wrestler. who doesn't love a pro wrestler?

the lord said to noah

there's gonna be a floody floody.
(ugh. just for the record, i hate that camp song)

today was a beautiful day.

it was sunny and warm, but not too warm.
i spent a lot of time outside.
i walked to school
i walked to the ad lab
i walked to bianca's work
(cuz i love her)
i walked home
i walked back to school
i walked to the wilk
all in the sun!
then, at 4:15, i walked out of the wilk to go to work (at 4:30)
it was raining.
i didn't worry about it because it didn't look too ominous.
how wrong i was.
today, provo decided to have a large thunderstorm between 4:15 and 4:30.
and, yes, i did say THUNDERstorm.
as in thunder
boom
loud noises that cause 15 year old efy girls to SCREAM.photo courtesy of
it also comes with rain.
quite a bit of rain, actually.
by the time i made it to work, my hair was as wet as if i'd just gotten out of the pool.
and my clothes?
let's just say it's a good thing that my shirt wasn't white.

it's not that i hate rain.
i actually liked walking in the rain.
i love rain storms.
i grew up in oklahoma.
(aka, tornado alley)
i know all about rain.

but i did get some pretty funny looks when i walked into work.

strike a turkey (aka. things i love #9)

i'm not very good at sports.
i like to play sports, but i'm just no good.i have limited hand eye coordination,
i'm not super fast,
and i'm not good at catching things.

however, there is one sport that i LOVE.
it is a beautiful sport.
and they give you awesome shoes.

bowling=LOVE
my high score? 169.
don't worry, my team was second in the tournament in our bowling class in fall of 2008.
we were almost first, but we lost by a hair.
(big blonde hair, actually. ugh.)
this is the almost bowling champion team. our bowling names are, respectively:
magnum (dana), jazz square (carrie), and rudd a tudd tudd (bianca)
best class offered at byu.
seriously. if you ever need 1/2 a credit,
TAKE BOWLING!

the epic popsicle

i wasn't really sure how to convey how AWESOME this popsicle was.
so, i came up with some names to show it:

the popsicle and the chamber of secrets
the lord of the popsicles
gladi-sicle
gone with the popsicle
dino-popsicle
the popsicle strikes back

ok, now that you've read how huge of a deal it was, here's a visual:
not only is it HUGE, but it's delicious. crazy delicious. like red vines and mr. pibb. only better. it was awesome.

the popsicle is just one element to the amazing day off of school and work i had yesterday.
it was the first holiday from school i'd had since Feb. 17 (president's day.)
and no, i don't count the 5 days i had in between winter and spring semesters. i was moving. ugh.
but, because it was a holiday, i made the most of it.
we sat by the pool (the bridge of my nose got pink. that's it)
we ate monster snow cones (mine later became mega popsicle up there)
we went to a barbecue (conner almost died, or at least his hair did)
we played scum (the game ended with me as the king)
we went to bianca's fhe (can you say teeter totter?)
we danced to mmm bop and nights of endless pleasure (i know all the words to mmm bop. and yes, there are words)
we watched she's the man on the porch (you didn't know it was possible, but that movie is actually better outside!)
my left arm smelled like a boy (just the left. weird)
bianca almost killed a deer (and lived to tell the tale)

it was sweet.
but most of all, the popsicle was huge.
