i'm blogging a lot this month. oh well. it's summertime. that's why.

here's a commercial that i love.
remember the old spice commercial?
have ya seen the new one?
well, take a gander. it's amazing.

things i love #10

remember my sugar high?
well, during my baking craze,
i found a new love.
it's called a kitchen aid.
and it's beautiful.
i would love to own one.
any color,
but to be perfectly honest,
this is the one that i covet.

hello, lovely.

just another dream of my life

you know beauty and the beast?
one of my favorite movies ever?
you know when the beast realizes that he loves belle and wants to give her a gift?
do you remember what he gives her?
the library

i love books. i really do.
this is feeding that love.
i would love to have that many books.
more books than you could ever read in a lifetime.
books on every subject you can imagine.

i want to have a library in my house.
i want to be a book collector.
i really love used book stores.
and new book stores for that matter.
and libraries.
i just want to have tons and tons and tons of books.
like belle.

strike a turkey (aka. things i love #9)

i'm not very good at sports.
i like to play sports, but i'm just no good.i have limited hand eye coordination,
i'm not super fast,
and i'm not good at catching things.

however, there is one sport that i LOVE.
it is a beautiful sport.
and they give you awesome shoes.

bowling=LOVE
my high score? 169.
don't worry, my team was second in the tournament in our bowling class in fall of 2008.
we were almost first, but we lost by a hair.
(big blonde hair, actually. ugh.)
this is the almost bowling champion team. our bowling names are, respectively:
magnum (dana), jazz square (carrie), and rudd a tudd tudd (bianca)
best class offered at byu.
seriously. if you ever need 1/2 a credit,
TAKE BOWLING!

pictures i found

sometimes i take pictures with my phone.
i looked at these today, and well, i thought i'd share.

also, i wanted to delete them off my phone, but i needed to immortalize them,
and since this bloggity blog blog is obviously lasting forever,
this is probably a good place to put them.
remember the ducks that i loved? these are them. beautiful.
this snail was in my path. i thought i'd show it for daisy. these types of slugs used to climb into her house. freaky.
this one's for kathleen and alison. you guys have mud on your shoulders.
don't doubt that i will eventually call for one of these.
this one confuses me. i don't know what it means. i don't know why it's there, but i've seen several of them. (i blurred out the name because i don't know the police captain or why he's supposedly a liar, so i don't want to ruin his street cred, i just wanted to share the weirdness) here's my thing. if you want to make a statement, let's not make flyers that look like your five year old brother could make them. weird.
this was my score for beatles rock band. yeah, kind of a big deal.
this chair was sitting in front of the book store. it was all alone. by itself. the sign says it's reserved. what?

my name is stegasaurus. i'm a funny looking dinosaur. for on my back are many many plates, and on my tail there's MORE!

i took this video on my phone a long time ago.
probably two years ago.
but it's my favorite thing.
so, here you go. beautiful and hilarious.
i want this so bad.

wow, i sound like kathleen in this video.

well that was dumb.

i really love pasta salad.
i decided to make it today.
it will be delicious.
today, i started to boil the pasta.
it's almost done, and i'm realizing that the pot only has one handle.
so, it's gonna be hard to drain.
because i'm stupid.
sheesh.

hey, herman! what is going on?

this post is dedicated to my sweet sister, kathleen.

remember how we're friends?
remember how we would fight over who got to get the "be fri" half of the "best friend" necklace?
remember how we ate animal crackers?
remember how we watched from justin to kelley?
remember how i let you be the pretty blue centaur?
remember how you held my hand when i needed to go to sleep?
remember how i don't hear nothing but ladies calling?
remember how i would make you laugh on the headset at sonic?
remember how we would sing bohemian rhapsody?
remember how i was there when your child was born?
(for those playing at home, that link does not show pictures of the actual bearing of the child, but pictures of the child herself. she's adorable. and definitely worth looking at)
remember how i like you?
remember how i called you three times today?

why have you forsaken me?
(and by forsaken, i mean that you didn't answer my calls)

let's go fly a kite.

so, today, i went in to the dentist to have him get rid of t-pain.
he gave me laughing gas.
apparently laughing gas makes me really loopy.
i didn't laugh.
at all.

but, my whole body felt heavy.
i remember thinking:
"my eyelids are heavy. my eyelids are so heavy."
over and over and over and over.

and then i closed them.
that worked well,
until i actually fell asleep.
and snored.
i don't know if this happens often, but it did happen to me.
about 3 or 4 times, i heard myself snore.
it was a little awkward,
but i was high as a kite,so it didn't matter.

i wish i was on a boat.

remember this guy?photo courtesy of
ok, do you remember why he was previously mentioned on this bloggity blog blog?
(don't know why i wrote that, but i kind of like the sound of it)
well, t-pain and i are through.
tomorrow at 1:45, the dentist will deliver a restraining order to t-pain.
it's gonna be hard.
i'm not excited.
however, as much as i'd like to be on a boat with t-pain,
i'm glad to have the pain in my mouth relieved.

10 movies you should really see--childhood edition

this week at work, we're watching movies from our childhood.it got me thinking about all of the movies that i was obsessed with as a kid.
obviously, the never ending story

was one of them.
here are some others.

these movies were very important to me as a child.
the ones that my family owned?
they were eventually taken away.
we watched them far too often.
but, they were awesome.

wow, i did not know i remembered that much.

so, yesterday, we watched the never ending story at work.
one of my all time favorite movies.
we also had
never ending story trivia.
i knew a shockingly large amount.
here are some things i knew off of the top of my head about that movie:
the main character's name is bastian (not sebastian, as some people think)
the other main character's name is atreyu.
atreyu's horse's name is artex.
atreyu hunts purple buffalo.
it's not a giant flying dog. it's a luck dragon. named falcor.
bastian gives the empress the name moon child.
the giant turtle's name is morla.
in order to get past the sphinx, atreyu needed confidence.
and lastly, that the movie is awesome.
really awesome.

oh, and remember the song?
have ya seen the music video?
best. mullet. ever.
watch it here.

yeah. he's awesome.

oh no...

i have a huge issue.
i think it's worse than people realize.
maybe i need to be committed. do they have rehab for clock addicts?
because what happens when i see this is no good.
i literally said "oh no" out loud.
problems.

but, isn't it pretty?

so, here's the thing.

i know that it's a summer class.
i know that the work load is extra, since there's less time.
i know that sometimes you can't cut the reading
but
isn't it a little extravagant to have us read
the whole intro (78 pages)
all of the sonnets (154 sonnets/33 pages)
and the intro to shakespearean tragedy (11 pages)
(all tiny font)
that's a total of 122 pages
in 2 days.

and then have to turn around and read hamlet for 2 days later?

good thing i have 4 hours before class
(i should probably get off line and start reading.)

what's your game, now, can anybody play?

ok, so this is post number 109, and i have yet to share this song,
which is actually strange, since it is
my song.
and since the blog is the incessant ramblings of CARRIE ANN.
so, without further ado,
Carrie Ann(e) by the Hollies

i really like my parents.

true story.
they're really cool.

this is my dad, tom:
on the right
my dad's the one on the left in the white. this is the band he was in, the prairie swing.

this is him now:
well, that was about 5 years ago, but you get the picture.

he's really funny.
he's loud,
he's musical,
he's just fun.

this is my mom, pam:

this is her now:

she's really pretty

she's also caring.
and funny.
and great.

they're the greatest parents ever
(maybe my opinion is biased, but probably not)
i just thought you should meet them.

fun fact number 15

your mama don't dance
and your daddy don't rock and roll

well, mine do.

(obviously)
this is great for me.

it means i have pretty decent music taste.
however, that came with some issues.
we listened to music a lot growing up.
but, it wasn't the music that you guys probably all listened to.
until i was about 11 years old, i didn't know that "new" music was being made.
no idea whatsoever.
i grew up on oldies.
the beatles,
elvis,

buddy holly,
the monkees,
the hollies,
i thought that 90s music was "skating party music" that's what i called it.
so, yes, i'd heard tlc and the spice girls.
but i didn't know you could listen to them outside of the skating rink.
now, this is great for me.
i have a broad range of music that i like.
but,
in 4th grade?
the kid who's favorite band is the beatles?
and has never heard of 98 degrees?

she's weird.

if you listen closely, you can hear cassy and i singing "love potion number niyiyine"
do you hear it?

(this post was inspired by my current obsession with my oldies playlist on grooveshark. it consists of beauties such as
peggy sue
do wah diddy
carrie anne
the rain, the park, and other things
last train to clarksville
take good care of my baby

bus stop
love potion number 9
and wipeout.
much of this music would be dubbed by my father as "teeny bopper" music, and he would be extremely distressed that i would choose to willingly listen to it
)

who hit me with the stupid stick? because i would like to beat them with the I HATE YOU stick

i am in classes this semester.
that's not the problem.
they're not hard classes.
that's not the problem either.
no.
the problem is that i signed up for classes without looking at what time they started.
so, somehow, due to my own momentary ignorance,
i ended up with a class
monday through thursday
starting at 8:00 am.
idiot.

i found something.

it's sweet.
it makes me wish i had a lot of money.
and could buy anything i wanted.

because if that were the case, i would spend a lot of money on these prints.
it also makes me wish i was designing a nursery.
because, yet again, if that were the case, i would buy a lot of these prints.
so, click here, and you can look at all the prints. they are $6 a piece, for the most part.
mint parcel is fantastic.

here are some of my favorites:

little narwhal
bye buddy, i hope you find your dad!octopus in waves
have you ever seen adventure time?
because that's what this octopus reminds me of.
platypus in water
do you know what a platypus sounds like when it's angry.
you should. it's a great noise.
little whale
not going to lie, most of the time i'm afraid of whales.
but this one? doesn't seem so menacing.
little orange monster
i really love orange. and monsters.

5 movies you should really see

i really like movies.
a lot.
(side note: i don't know if you've noticed, but i have, that i type "a lot." a lot. just an observation)
this is a list of movies that you should watch. they're
really good.

Penelope:
this is one of my
favorite movies. christina ricci. james mcavoy. it's amazing. it's beautiful. it's funny. it also makes every girl in the world who's ever been the slightest bit insecure feel infinitely better about herself.

favorite quote: "Edward, don't lick Max."

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium:
my mom took me to see this movie the first time. i was not excited to see it. i thought it looked strange. however, the second this movie started, i was entranced. along with just being great, it's also beautifully filmed.

favorite quote: "Light bulbs die, my sweet. I will depart. "

The Philadelphia Story:
cary grant, jimmy stewart, and katherine hepburn. enough said.

favorite quote: -"C.K. Dexter Haven, I would like to talk to you."
-"Well, let's go in the talking room."

To Sir With Love:
sidney poitier is one of my heroes. and in this movie? he's a freaking rockstar. his portrayal of his character is chilling. he does an amazing job. the whole movie is fantastic.

favorite quote: "a friend who taught me right from wrong. and weak from strong, that's a lot to learn. "

Some Kind Of Wonderful:
remember how all through pretty in pink you want ducky to get the girl? how no matter how many times you watch it, it still kind of breaks your heart when andy goes after blaine? well, apparently john hughes heard the pleas of the people. he wrote another movie, made ducky female, and named her watts. he called that movie some kind of wonderful. and it is wonderful.

favorite quote: "You look good wearing my future."
