sometimes

when i see a girl
with a scarf
wrapped tightly
around her neck,
it scares me.
and i wonder,
if she removed said scarf,
would her head fall off?

then i realize,
those things only happen

in a
dark,
dark
house,

in the
dark,
dark
woods.

and her scarf isn't green.
