5 ways to snooze.

i used to be a bit of an insomniac. i had a hard time falling asleep. i would lay awake for hours just thinking about stuff.

well, eventually, i learned some tricks to help myself fall asleep. they are as follows:

1. (this one's my favorite) draw an imaginary line in your mind. you focus only on the line. when you inhale, you draw the line up. when you exhale, you draw the line down. you think of nothing but the line. eventually, this gets very boring and you fall asleep.
2. listen to a book on tape, quietly. you just lay there, listening to it with your eyes closed. you will inevitably fall asleep. (a word of caution: if you listen to Harry Potter 7 and you are half asleep when they go to the lady's house and Nagini comes out of her body, you will have some FREAKY dreams)
3. turn off the light and use a flashlight to read by. the darkness and the strain on your eyes will wear you out and you will fall asleep.
4. (this one is easier in elementary school) try to remember the name of EVERY person in your class. then put them in alphabetical order. this will get old. you will fall asleep.
5. count. you choose the way. by 5s, 2s, 4s, 30s, it doesn't matter. eventually, it's gonna lull you into submission.

if you try all of these and it doesn't work, i don't really know what to tell you. these are gold.
